Description

Position Summary: This role is responsible for managing material procurement, processing customer sales orders, preparing materials lists from BOMs (Bills of Materials), and coordinating quote preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret/learn to interpret technical drawings, and experience in inventory and order management.

Essential Job Functions:
Sales & Customer Order Processing:
• Create opportunity / projects in Salesforce. Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and other tracking systems.
• Receive RFQ’s (Request for Quote) from customers or sales dept and upload information into the proper files.
• Prepare and send customer quotes.
• Process customer purchase orders and generate corresponding sales orders.
• Convert sales orders into work orders for production. Create all work orders for each line on sales orders.
• Allocate and track materials required for builds. Allocate and receive all work orders.
• Communicate with customers regarding schedules, changes, and order status.

Materials & Inventory Management:
• Identify and source stock for components listed in customer cable drawings.
• Create and manage BOMs (Bills of Materials) from customer-provided drawings.
• Order all required materials for sales and work orders.
• Receive, inspect, and kit incoming materials by project.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, including Kanban system management.
• Post scanned work orders, sales orders, and any additional required materials to project records.

Engineering & Fulfillment Support:
• Generate packing lists, picklists, and shipping documentation.
• Allocate work orders and sales orders for fulfillment.
• Manage outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Package completed orders for shipment.

Continuous Improvement:
• Work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to ensure efficient operations.
• Support process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and streamlining workflows.
• Demonstrate and apply our internal and external company values (aka "Anchors") by working positively and collaboratively with team members and customers to form good partnerships and great teams while innovating, eliminating the non-essential and improving.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Sales Force
  • Ability to gather, analyze and manipulate data
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Work effectively under pressure with frequent interruptions; coordinate and prioritize a variety of assignments with varying deadlines
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision while effectively coordinating with teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate orders, schedule changes, and material availability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, including order fulfillment, inventory tracking, and sales processing.

Education Requirements

Associate’s degree and/or equivalent

Experience Requirements

Customer service experience preferred.
