Description

Role Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Cable and Wire Harness Assembler to join our custom cable team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality wires and cable harnesses essential for electromechanical assembly. These components are vital for safely and efficiently transferring information to inaccessible machine components across various industries, including medical, renewable energy, aerospace, and robotics. Your primary duties will include following customer specifications to produce cable orders, verifying them against Bills of Materials (BOM) and schematics, measuring, bending, and cutting cables to required lengths, assembling cable fittings, and  conducting quality assurance checks on completed cables. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering products of the highest quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot cables, including phase matching. Produce cable orders according to customer specifications and validate against Bills of Materials (BOM) and schematics.
  • Measure, bend, or cut cables to the necessary length, assemble cable fittings, and solder cable ends.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on completed cables. Apply identifying information and labels on cable assemblies, and prepare products for delivery.
  • Document processes accurately and in a timely manner, including Work Instructions (WI), Certificates of Compliance (COC), and other necessary documents.
  • Learn and apply industry standards including IPC 620, ISO 9001, Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of equipment and tools

 

Skills

  • Proficient in utilizing various measuring tools such as calipers, depth gauges, standard rulers, and calculators. Skilled in handling hand and small tools.
  • Capable of comprehending CAD drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.  Able to maintain systematic order during assembly and ensures materials are organized.
  • Adaptable to working under deadlines for timely completion of assignments.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedicated to understanding customer requirements and meeting their specifications and tight timelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. Salesforce familiarity is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Skilled in comprehending and following written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Proficient in mathematics, including metric and standard measurements.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.  Associates Degree in Electronics Technology preferred.
Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience in electronic assembly is desirable.
  • IPC certification, including 610, 620 or J-Standard is a plus.
