Quality Technician

Position Summary: Quality Technicians play a vital role in implementing and maintaining quality improvement processes to achieve strategic quality objectives for our custom-manufactured RF (radio frequency) and switch matrix systems while contributing to the development and documentation of processes. The quality technician provides expert-level knowledge and training in quality improvement tools and manage document control.
Essential Job Functions:
Quality
- Be the primary contact/ liaison to the customer’s quality team and drive improvements within the professional services team in accordance with customer standards. Liaise with customer’s systems engineers, Safety Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer.
- Implement, maintain, and adapt the quality improvement processes to achieve strategic quality objectives for custom-manufactured RF and switch matrix systems
- Develop Lean Processes. Converse with others to troubleshoot or improve product and processes.
- Participate in the nonconforming material process. This is a hands-on responsibility that can include sorting materials or products for processing, inventory or shipments as needed.
- Participate in the corrective action process, including 8D problem solving. Initiate and maintain CAPAs for both internal and external non-conformance issues.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineer and the Procurement team to follow up on any defects with root cause analysis reports required. Report and communicate back to the project teams’ findings.
Process Documentation
- Create and establish processes for the Aerospace and Defense custom manufacturing division.
- Oversee and support the update and development of team processes
- Provide “expert” level knowledge, training and consulting in general quality improvement tools.
- Implement document control, such as maintaining master lists, issuing new documents or revs, and facilitating documentation reviews. Manage document change control
- Develop and maintain a training tracker for documented processes.

Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of APQP and ISO 9001:2015
- Outstanding attention to detail, demonstrate ability to work accurately, follow instructions/schedules/timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner. Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of computers, Windows environment including MS Office Suite, exposure to ERP systems a plus.
- Proficiency in inspection techniques, use of calipers, micrometers, height gages and various hand-held gages.
- Experience with RoHS Compliance preferred
- Hands on experience with electronic documentation and document control processes
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
2-3 years of experience as a quality technician. Additional education or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
