RF Technician
Description
Position Summary:
As a RF Technician you'll be responsible for assembling and troubleshooting customer designed RF systems used for testing, communications and aerospace and defense applications. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications, assembling sections of machines, performing mechanical assembly operations, and working with electrical or electronic systems. We expect you to possess good technical knowledge together with great manual dexterity. You should also be able to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings and schematics etc. and follow them with precision.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform intricate mechanical and electrical assemblies following released work instructions, engineering drawings, and sketches, ensuring completion within specified deadlines
- Construct and wire test systems ("integration"), arranging racks and instruments as per provided documentation and drawings, prioritizing accuracy and precision.
- Ensure each system is equipped with appropriate strain relief, bend radius, support, and maintains a well-organized appearance, adhering to set standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to address mechanical or electrical/electronic issues during integration, implementing approved changes and updating annotations in drawings as required.
- Utilize formal, controlled, written work instructions from both physical paper documentation and electronic computer systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to self-inspect work throughout the assembly process, ensuring compliance with acceptance procedures for quality assurance.
- Identify assembly constraints that could conflict with ISOW/drawings, making necessary adjustments based on feedback from the engineering team.
- Implement wiring for diverse cable systems (GPIB, LAN, RF, SIGNAL, and POWER), ensuring accuracy and functionality.
- Prepare systems for shipment by conducting final tasks such as photographing, cleaning, and necessary preparatory procedures.

Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good proficiency in mechanical assembly, with prior knowledge of electronics and electricity for comprehensive understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently assemble racks, fixtures, and instruments.
- Expert-level capability to read, comprehend, and interpret both written and oral instructions, as well as mechanical and electrical drawings (blueprints).
- Above Average capacity to understand the sequential process of system building, maintain organized materials, and adhere to timelines for successful project completion.
- Ability to discern issues, evaluate various solutions independently, or recognize when engineering support is necessary.
- Customer-Centric Approach with above average ability comprehend customer requirements, work in line with their specifications, and meet their deadlines effectively.

Education Requirements
A High School diploma or GED is required for this position. An Associates degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred. Electronics and wire harness assembly experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of education.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required, including general mechanical and electrical assembly using work instructions.
Preferred Experience:
• Understanding of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and FOD reduction/prevention methods.
• Experience handling electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive items.
• Previous training and or certifications in soldering.
• Current or previous J-STD or other IPC certification
